Visionary Digital™ SolMate™
Trans-Illumination System
Patent Pending
Visionary Digital™
is the only authorized integrator of this product.
The SolMate™ gives photographers the control of the numerical aperture of the transmitted light in macro applications. (1:1 to 40X magnification). Previously, this type of critical control has been relegated to research microscopes only. The research microscope allows you to adjust the numerical aperture (NA) of the transmitted illumination or angle of light entering the lens to match the objective being used. With a simple flip of a lever, a significant boost in contrast and apparent depth of field is acheived.
The SolMate™ is designed to be used with the FX2 fiber optic illuminator.
It delivers bright-field , dark-field and cross polarization with unmatched control.
The X-Y stage makes moving the target effortless and affords the operator the control to make very fine adjustments in position. The rear mirror has a slide and tilt adjustment that lights a wider variety of material including specimens that contain both opaque and translucent material.
The SolMate™ was designed to bridge the gap between stereo microscopes and compound microscopes . By giving the operator critical illumination control of a compound microscope with lower magnifications, many subjects that would otherwise require multiple slice exposures to be in focus can be done in a single exposure. This unique illuminator also allows you to use the higher power objectives on the K2 microscope with a sharpness and clarity that was not previously possible.
Each SolMate™ comes with a calibration target and instructional manual that will have you up and running in minutes. If you need to image with transmitted illumination you need the SolMate™. This device stands in a class by itself when compared with any standard or diffused back light source.
